Some of the auto parts stores like autozone will check the code for you for free so you don't have to buy a scanner.

The car is indicating that a malfunction has occurred. Two options... take it to a repair shop and have them run the OBD2 diagnostic to determine what the problem is.
OR...
Go to an auto parts store and purchase an OBD2 scanner and perform the diagnostic yourself. Some auto parts stores will do this for you for free and tell you what the code(s) means

Slow Start/Engine Light

My advice is that you get the trouble codes read[or buy you own obd2 reader at wallmart because around here they charge $60 for a scan and you can buy the scaner from them for less than $100 and you can check it yourself if the light comes back on].A scan tool is the only way to know for sure where you should be looking.

My 97 jeep grand cherokee makes a chirping sound under front

The noise and the light may or may not be related. The noise may be the wear indicator on the brake pads touching the rotor (they are supposed to do that when brakes are worn) The abs light triggers off a wheel on the axle end. If you have a bad joint on the axle, it could be noisy and causing the wheel to not have the proper clearance to the abs sensor. You really need to take the wheel and brake assembly off and carefully inspect everything. Make sure all abs sensor wires are undamaged...it doesn't have to be at the same wheel that's chirping.

No brake lights on 04 grand Cherokee limited edition

I had a similar problem with my 04 grand cherokee special edition. It was a 20 amp relay. The relay blew causing my brake lights to not work, also my power seats and sun roof. Its located under the hood on the passanger side. Its a red relay.. Possibly that..
