Question about 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
You can take the van to Autozone, they will test the check engine light to be sure. More than likely you have a bad plug wire or plug. If a plug is not firing right it will not burn the gas, hence your rough idle and back fire.

Go to autozone and have them do a diagnostic check this is a free service and may identify the problem without further cost
