Question about 2002 Mercury Cougar
Replaced the fuel pump 4 months ago, the car has quit several times since then and would start after wiggling the wires under the back seat. Now, that won't work and fuses keep blowing, I also don't hear the hum or whine of the fuel pump when key is in the on position.
Your answer is to get a test light with a lead on 1 end and test the feed wire under the back seat ,,turn on the ign switch and put test light in wire and other end to earth ...if light lights go to tank and test again then play with wires to see it they will go out if yes then replace wires from around the firewall to rear pump wire connection and you should hear the pump going..
