It means both cam sensors are outIf you get this code, the first thing to check is your distributor especially if you have an imported vehicle. Look for signs of oil in the distributor which can contaminate the signals being monitored by the ecm (engine computer).Check also the wiring leading to the distributor and see if the wires are properly insulated away from hot exhaust which could burn the wires. Do these checks also on the crank sensor itself whether it is located in the front of the engine or at the flywheel at the rear of the engine. Ditto for the cam sensor of syc.

What is trouble code P1336

Here's what I've found about this P1336 code:
P1336 Crankshaft sensor is out of sync with camshaft sensor test
If you get this code, the first thing to check is your distributor especially if you have an imported vehicle. Look for signs of oil in the distributor which can contaminate the signals being monitored by the ECM (engine computer). Check also the wiring leading to the distributor and see if the wires are properly insulated away from hot exhaust which could burn the wires. Check also on the crank sensor location whether it is located in the front of the engine or at the flywheel at the rear of the engine. The same can be done for the cam sensor.
On engines with distributor, the cam sensor is usually located in the distributor and it will give you a lot of grief if not properly align and synchronize with the crank sensor. On some applications (like Ford), an alignment tool is required which is can be bought from your local parts store (cost about $31). If you install the distributor without proper timing, it will still run but the mileage will suffer and the above code showing up.
Your local trusted mechanic or Ford Dealer should be able to resolve this for you (if you can't) without too much trouble.

Chevy express 1999 didn't start, i have a code p1336. i've change the crank shaft sensor but it didn't strat and i have a P1336 code again

Trouble Code: P1336

CKP Sensor System Variation Not Learned
Possible Causes:

Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels for safety. Verify the hood is closed. Read the trouble codes. If a code is set, refer to that code. Start the engine. Allow engine temperature to reach at least 158?F (70?C). Then key off. Select Crankshaft Position Variation Learn procedure on Scan Tool & start the vehicle. Apply the brake pedal firmly and verify the selector is in Park. Increase accelerator pedal position until fuel cutoff is reached at the test rpm (e.g., 5150). Quickly release the accelerator pedal after fuel cutoff is reached. The CKP system variation compensating values are learned when the engine speed (rpm) decreases back to idle speed and the procedure terminates. Read the trouble codes and recheck for DTC P1336. If DTC P1336 runs and passes, the CKP system variation "learn" procedure is complete. If not, look for other codes. If no codes are set, repeat the test procedure.

2005 Nissan Altima. Engine will crack but car won't start. Could it be anti theft? And how can you check it and resolve the problem? The diagnostic code came up as it blinked 10 times slow and 3 times...

This is a 2005 the codes are more than that, that type of checking can not be done on this year, these codes are more like this po1255, you would need a scan tool to check the codes and you may be right it could be the anti theft but if it were the car would start for about 3 seconds and die out but if its not starting then you may have anoyher problem, there are many autopart stores that would scan it for free but you would need to bring them the car, the codes would tell you what the problem would be, for example it would say crank sensor voltage, and with a little testing you would be able to know if it was the sensor or a wire, try spraying starting fluid into throtlebody and then try to start car if it runs for a few seconds and dies then you know its fuel problem and may be the fuelpump, hope this is helpful.

My engine light has appeared on my Honda a few months back, I unplugged the battery and the engine light has reappeared. I got a diagnostic test done at Partsource and the following codes appeared p1336,...

No, I doubt if the spark plugs are the issues. They never fail to fire, they just need repalcing after 60,000 miles of wear.

You have cylinder misfires shown, on several cylinders, as well as crank sensor and cam sensor, codes

You would appear to have timing issues, that effect those sensors.

Most likely your timming belt is worn, and it jumped a couple of teeth

After so many miles on the distributor, the oil seal can wear out. Oil and vapor can slowly enter the senor area and cause fail rotation/spot information to the computer ECU.

In order to inspect for potential oil leak inside the distributor, you must be pretty handy.

Pull the cap and rotor and inspect them for oil.

Look directly into the shaft of the distributor and see is there any loose plastic (from the cover) or metal particle.

This key is to keep it clean.

Use a can of compress air if you have one.

Put the cap and rotor back on. Make sure all the wires are secure and reset the code.

or disconnect, wait 2 minutes and reconnect battery cable.

If you see oil the you will need to locate and replace the rubber seal.

Oil and electronic part does not play well together,

Please keep me up to day by appending to this post.

Good luck.

1992 ford ranger 3.0

i was once pulling a trailer with a ranger when it suddenly lost power and the engine died. turns out the problem was with the fuel shut off inertia switch. the switch is supposed to activate in case of accident. on my model the inertia switch is located in the passenger side under the glove box. dont know where yours is located. once you find it, just push the button and see if it resets. good luck.
