02 mitsubishi lancer oz rally automatic and when I turned it off the engine sputtered a little so I turned it back on started up back fine and shut it off and it sputter again Its neverdone thisHelp?

I think what you are describing may be "run on" or Dieseling" which is a way of saying that an ngine with spark plugs that should stop when the key is turned off, continues to run in a rough manner. This is typically caused by glowing carbon in the cylinder, often on the head next to a fouled spark plug tip.
I would recommend changing the spark plugs and spending the $ for some "tune up in a can" that removes carbon deposits from inside the cylinders.
Hope this helps.

I recently took my car to have a tuneup. They told me spark plugs were fine but it seemed to be running rough. I agreed that it was running rough. They tried a new harmonic balancer. Nope. So they removed...

Your car has an OBD-1 computer. Take it to a transmission shop to have the computer scanned for fault codes before wasting more money on changing parts. Cottman will scan it for free.

no problem its a wet climate causing this ,as for the rough running then check the breather pipes they are under the manifold at teh front of the engine ,these deteriorate and cause some problems regarding idle and running rough renew them anyway if car is over 5 yrs old is best advice

2004 TB EXT. Lately its been running rough. When I start it, it has a quick vibration-noise then stops. When I turn it off, it makes a weird stumble(very fast) then dies. Sounds as if the exhaust is...

1st things first, clean that throttle body with carb cleaner with the battery disconnected.

Check your motor mounts and transmission mounts for the vibration at start up and when your foot is on the brake. I just went through this with my TB. The mounts may look ok visually, but they may be going flat. Changing the gear oil won't solve anything you have described, however, it's time to change, then change it.

Did you recently change your spark plugs to a brand other than AC Delco 41-103's? I've seen platinum plugs make our TB's run rough also the worst is Bosch. Stick with the iridium Delco's, will have a smoother running vehicle. Hope something in here helps.

ROUGH IDLE

Did you replace the plugs with the same plugs (Manufacturer) as the plugs you had in there. Some cars are very picky with plugs. ie: some Japanese cars will only run well with NGK Spark Plugs. Try to use only what Subaru recommends in your engine for the best performance.

My car starts rough and its stops with me whats the problem its a 2008 scion tc i just changed the spark plugs am completely lost the engine light is on what is the problem?

you shouldn't need plugs until 100,000 miles. if the engine light is on you need to run a scanner on the car to see why. something has failed like maybe an injector. parts stores will run scanner for free hoping you will buy the parts from them. what about warranty? drivetrain sometimes has longer warranty. good luck

Have 2000 limited 4.7. Has engine light on and checked codes, says #3 & 6 misfire. changed coils. but still have light and runs rough at 65-69 mph. A little rough at stop.

why would someone even start with changing the coils...usually a misfire is due to bad spark plugs..replace spark plugs, then go from there...just for a personal reference, the next time you want to see if your coils are bad, simply change out your bad two coils with two coils on the other side of the engine that are good...if they misfire code changes, then you know its a coil...if not, plugs...

Running rough, wont idle, bad gas smell

Possible injector failure. locate by disconnecting injectors one at a time. The one that makes no change is the questionable. Status of spark plugs need chkg also. pull the plugs an the one that looks washed is questionable good luck

Did you properly gap the plugs when you changed them? Improper spark will cause really rough idling at low RPM like that.
