Question about 2003 Ford Focus
My car won't roll over. The radio and lights work but won't turn over. Won't even jump start.
Even though the radio works the battery is your problem. It doesnt have enough juice to start the car. you will have to take it out of the car and have it tested to make sure. Any auto parts store will test it free of charge. Poor quality cables will not jump a battery with that low of power. I learned that the hard way with my impala.

Testimonial: "I was ready to replace the starter, but when he put my attention back to the battery I found the terminal that runs the starter was dirty. Runs Fine. "
If a "jump" makes no difference at all, I would suggest that the starter motor is at fault. By all means have battery checked but make sure you have code for radio before disconnecting. Also if a manual, try a " bump" start.....even a low battery should have enough power for that to be succesfull

the alternator charges the battery so if that happens then your alternator is bad but if you jump it and it works for sometime then i guess ur battery is bad so change the battery

SOURCE: the car won't start; lights,
Check the starter and the starter relay or fuse. A client of mines car was doing the same thing, it ended up being two issues, the starter not working anymore, and a relay that was bad. If I am not mistaken everything should be labeled in the fuse box under the hood and will tell you where the fuse/ relay is for your vehicle

SOURCE: 1988 Cadillac DeVille
The 88 Deville is one of many cars made by GM that is using the antitheft system called VATS PASSKEY. (its that little black chip in the key) When this system fails, the car can't get the signal from the chip, so it locks out the starter to prevent theft. The car thinks it's being hot wired, so it shuts down. Look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. This is proof of a security failure. This might be your problem.
