thank you for your help, steering pump on order.

Check and make sure you have P/S fluid and that it is full. Most likely your power steering pump has failed. Also check your serpentine belt and make sure it is tight and not loose.

I see oil residue on the front bottom left of my engine.could it be my oil pump leaking or is it my gasket from a different part?

it is not your oil pump, as your oil pump is internal, it could be the oil pan gasket or the oil filter, try getting under the vehicle with a torch & having a good look to see where the leak is,when you know exactly where it is leaking you may be able to solve the problem, firstly determine if it is engine oil or transmission oil or power steering oil ETC.......hope this helps.....cheers.

My 2001 toyota tacoma is squealing nonstop and i think the powersteering pump is bad is this correct

I'm inclined to believe that your power steering pump is low on fluid or bad.

Squealing can come from any belt slipping or an accessory like the power steering pump being worn out.

Good luck, to you.

Noticed a small leak- not sure if oil or power steering fluid (light brown). Couldn't find source of the leak but appears to be somewhere in between the PS pump and timing belt on passenger side. 2006...

put a colored dye in the systems and a week later check it with a black light go to napa and ask from the might be air in the power steering pump try turning the wheel a couple of times..

Assuming you have a known GOOD pump that was replaced. Try turning the wheel right then left while keeping an eye on the fluid level in the pump reservoir.
Probably have air in the system.

if you have a leak from the back of the rack your sector shaft seal is defective. to replace it you need to remove the rack and do it on the bench.remove the locking nut and pull the seal from inside.if you are a rooky replace the rack with a rebuild one. good luck.
