Question about 2000 Ford Explorer

Is the new mercon tranmission oil is ok for automatic tranmission

My ford is 2000 explorer 4.0L. The user manual says that mercon v ATF should be used for its automatic transmission (while mercon is used for normal transmission) but our city agent provide services for above 2000 models and has another motorcraft oil written on it both ''mercon'' and ''mercon v''. Is it ok to use that oil?

Can you use a better oil in a 1994 ford 250 5 speed manual than atf?

Not sure what you mean by "better oil" but I'll tell you this... The M50D transmission is designed to use ATF. If you're using a stadard Type F fluid then yes, there is a better oil. It's Mercon V ATF. I believe this tranny takes 3 qts.
I hope this helps!

Manual Transmission fluid for Ford Escort ZX2

I know this sounds crazy according to Ford:

You can use-
Motorcraft MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX MERCON® Alternative Transaxle Fluid - SAE 75W90 Gear Oil F32Z-19C547-MA API GL-4
You are seeing that right, one instance they call for 75W90 and the other it is ATF. It is ok to run either, 75W90 will give you smoother shifts and less noise.

This transmission is filled through the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) hole.

Ford F150 2006 transmission is down 1 litre. The one garage in this lovely town of 400 does not sell Mercon. Is there another transmission oil I could use. Need to travel 80 k tomorrow to larger centre and...

Hi, Mercon is the type of fluid not a brand. Motorcraft is the brand Ford uses but other companies like Valvoline, Dextron, Pennzoil and so on sell ATF with the Mercon blend. Just make sure not to mix Mercon and Mercon V blends. Good Luck Hope this Fixsya!

What gear oil do i use in a 2000 ford focus 1.8tdi manual, its the one that you lift up a trigger to select reverse? thanks

MERCON (R) Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX

Using a transmission fluid that indicates a dual usage MERCON and MERCON V in a transmission application requiring MERCON, may cause internal transmission damage. The use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause transmission damage. Some fluid labels may indicate dual usage such as MERCON and MERCON V. These dual-usage fluids are not to be used in transmissions that use only the MERCON type fluid. These dual-usage fluids may be used in transmissions that require MERCON V use.
