Sounds like the blend door motor has went out and is stuck at cool. these motors are notorious for going bad. if it has, the blend door won't turn to let heat in

Have you made sure that all of the air is being bled off when you refill the system

It is worth loosening the return hose from the heater matrix when you top up the system to make sure the matrix is full of water

Chevy Blazer 2000 no heat changed thermosat still blows cold

Have you back flushed your coolant system? That is honestly the number one issue for most vehicles, is people not taking proper care and maintanence. But yes flush the system, and also check to make sure your getting good flow through your heater core if extremely blocked, you should replace it and also you should check your blend door actuator.

My 99 GMC sonoma with a 2.2L is not warming up properly

Possibly plugged or inerporable heater core. Possibly heater core valve (this diverts hot air through your heater system) When you flushed the block, was there a lot of contaminant? 95% of the time, cold heat means thermostat. Also there are a lot of really cheap after market thermostats, you can buy one as low as $6.00. That being said, just because a thermo is new doesn't necessarily mean it opens/shuts when it should. You can look on You Tube on how to test one in your kitchen with boiling water,.

So three basic things affect interior heat temps. Thermostat, plugged heater core/.valve, and insufficient coolant or liquid to tranfser heat. If your interior coolant (engine temp) is working normally and your vehicle reaches operating tempature according to the needle, your thermosat is probably not the cause.

My bet is somehow, your heater core is plugged so that their is not enough "flow"

Runs hot and hearter not blowing hot air

a heater uses the temperature of the cars water, running threw a heat exchanger if the heater core has failed water will not circulate threw the engine properly this will and can cause over heating as well as nothing blowing from the heater. good luck.heater cores are generally inexpensive parts to replace.

last thing you can check if heater core is ok. is the thermostat.

The air from the heater turns cold when stopped at a stop light or idling. When I resume moving the warm air then returns.

it could be a few things . first have you burped the system?
second the heator core could be starting too plug up , try flushing the system, if that doesnt work then you will have too replace the heater core!!!!!

Car will only have sometimes and i have replaced

If the car is not providing heat and thermostat is good, then your problem is a faulty heater core. Sometimes when heat cores wear out, they sometimes give off an anti-freeze smell.
