Question about 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL450

1 Answer

I have a 1996 Chevy Astro van. The hatch on the back has two solenoids that latch it shut, they are only activated with a switch on the dash. The left side solenoid latch does not disengage the latch on that side. There is no way to open the hatch manually and i cannot find a way to access the latch and know of no way to open the hatch to repair it. tony

One of the latches on the hatchback of a 1996 Chevy Astro van is stuck and won't release the hatch.

Is it rusted, or jammed? Was the vehicle in a collision or accident that could have bent or sprung the hatch or mating surfaces?

The primary hood latch for my 1998 Chevy Astro Van does not work, how can I open my hood?

My '02 astro van hood latch used to stick shut also. I was able to open it by having a friend operate the pull handle under the dash while I picked up on the hood. After I got it open I used some cleaner to degrease the latch mechanism and lubed it all with a good penetrating oil. It's worked like new ever since. I suspect I'll have to relube it every once and a while just to keep it working like new, after all it's a moving mechanical part.

Transmission solenoid location for 97 chevy astro van

well, there are six of them. The two solenoids that give you the four gears are the two square ones on the back of the valve body. The big round one is the EPC (pressure) solenoid. All are inside

1996 astro stalling/stalls

Right turn signal - activate turn signal and check to see if bulb (front and rear) are flashing. If not it will affect the flashing timing. Replace bulb. As for stalling, may yet be sediment/gunk in tank that is clogging new fuel pump filter and inline filter. Or an idle/throttle position sensor. Hatch problem, I've no idea. Family members 1998 Grand Caravan has been infected with similar gremlins in the sliding doors. Best advice is to obtain a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual and go through the troubleshooting section.

1996 Chevy Astro van rear hatch release solenoid not responding.

you remove the handle in the center of the rear hatch. if you look closely you will see two small snap covers that hide two screws.once you do this you will see a small bar that is actuated by the solenoid from the switch. try the switch to see what way the smalll bar inside moves the use a screwdriver to complete the disconnection. hope this helps.
