Yes my 2004 1.8t has a hybrid pan (aluminum/steel) and I believe the sensor is on the upper portion on the pan

How to determine if there is an oil pressure switch in 1999 vw jetta

I think they possibly mean an oil level sender because that mounts in the side of the oil pan. It just a float switch, puts a light up on the dash idiot lights to tell you to put more oil in. Look up both sides of the oil pan, it will be a round bolt in affair about the diameter of an orange.
If you can't see one then it's the model without the oil level sensor.

My 2006 vw jetta needs transmission fluid. The manual says I have to take it into a vw dealership however, the closest one is two hours away. Can I add the fluid myself and how?

1. Check and add transmission fluid on a 2006 VW Jetta with manual gearbox:

How to check transmission fluid level

Most 1995-on VW models don't have a transmission fluid dipstick for checking the transmission fluid level. To fill and check the level of the VW automatic transmission fluid you have to remove a plug on the side or bottom (location depends on model and if you have an automatic vs. manual transmission) of the transmission drain pan. The factory manual refers the expensive VAG 1924 special tool for pumping the VW automatic transmission fluid into the oil pan.

these little monsters will break easy so buy new jets before you "take"the old ones off.you may have to pull really hard to break the pipes off the stems.

I have a 98 vw jetta gls... the transmission drops into neutral and slams into first gear after coming to a complete stop.... can you help me????

you may have a fluid leak that has left the pan next to empty. check the fluid level, and add if needed. VW need specific tranny fluid. Mobil 1 Dex III will work though.

The threads on the oil drain in the aluminum oil pan are stripped. Is there a way to repair this, or do I need to replace the oil pan?

A well-stocked auto parts store (such as NAPA) may carry an oversized, self-tapping drain plug. Take your old one to compare.

Mt 1997 vw jetta gls won't go in any gears

Hello;
If your Jetta is a manual transmission, the clutch disc facing is probably gone. If it is an automatic, there are a number of things to check. Is transmission full of fluid? Does fluid smell burnt? Is there metal inside the oil pan? Hope this helps and rate me high.
Thanks;
