Question about 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

1 Answer

Rodent chewed through both ends of a twin lead wire which passes above the passenger side valve cover then underneath the intake manifold. I cannot find the loose end under the manifold. I hope I don't have to pull the manifold to fix. Suggestions, please. Mark in NJ

Thanks for using FixYa. Unfortunately you'll need to check the color of wire, which is needed to be connected. Please tell me the color of the wire so that i can help you out further.
Also check by turning on the car and check the lights, wiper and other functions and lights on the dash that everything is working alright. Make sure that the blower and AC are working.

Please do revert for further assistance.

I have a 1999 Acura CL. My defroster does not work nor will the air blow on the floor. Now my heater is blowing cold air? Any suggestions?

check for a rodent nest in the hvc system, they usually get in from the air intake for the hvac system which should be located on the passenger side under the cowl cover. if you have a cabin air filter they love to chew those up and make a nest in it.

Toyota D4D 2007 Verso Side Blows Cold Air driver side warm in passenger side

the best first thing to do is check for a rodent nest in your system, look into the hvac air intake which should be under the cowl cover on the passenger side. if there is debris in there you have a rodent nest which needs cleared out. if your vehicle has a cabin air filter this is where the intake for the hvac is.

Wher is the camshaft position sensor on a 2002 buick rendezvous

Locate the powersteering pump on the top of the passenger side of the engine. If you look in between the pump and the intake manifold you will see the cam sensor. The connector for the sensor is on the front of the engine right above the valve cover on the passenger side. It is has three wires.

Where is the pcv valve on a 2002 buick lasabre

The PCV valve is located under the map sensor in a plastic housing. If you stand on the passenger side of the vehicle and look under the hood, the map sensor is the sensor right in front of you.

It should have three wires going to it. If you look closely, the sensor is clipped into a type of cap. If you grab the cap the sensor is clipped into and twist it counterclockwise, it should come off and the pcv valve will be inside. You may need new orings to prevent oil consumption. You may also need a needlenose pliers to remove the sensor from the upper intake manifold.

Hope help.

Coolant leak at intake 1994 Buick LeSabre 3.8 ltr

There are several areas of possible leakage. One is the hose and plastic outlet from the intake manifold on the passenger side of the engine. The hose runs low, underneath the alternator. The plastic outlet cracks, the hose gets old, the clamps on the hose can also be loose. The replacement outlet from the dealer is steel, not plastic.
Another possibility for leakage is on the driver's side of the intake manifold. Underneath the air inlet is a metal cover on the end of the intake manifold. This covers the coolant passages at the end of the intake. Mine was oozing don't have to pull the intake to replace this.
The other place for leaks is the intake itself..requiring removal of the intake. I've done this...I don't think it is that bad of a job. However, if you put in a new intake, don't forget to put in a pcv fits under a small cover at the right rear of the intake manifold.
