Used a volt meter to check the battery terminal voltage after 5 minutes of warm up time. Your alternator should produce 13.8V to 14.2V. Make sure the positive terminal and the plastic connector on the alternator is clean. Check belt tensioner worn indicator. Check belt condition. Some part store has a portable battery that can check for internal diodes for ripple voltage fault. ========= Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem. Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats) Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat) Seat covers Weight on passenger seat (Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.) I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem. I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s) Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem. ====== Please rate my answer if it is useful to you. The light is on because the SRS computer detected excessively low voltage, likely right before your battery failed/was replaced.
To clear the light you will need to take it to a dealer or a repair shop with a Mitsubishi-compatible SRS scantool.

This happens so frequently, I never charge customers for clearing SRS lights that are related to battery changes (code will be IG low voltage A and B).

Sensor bad srs passenger seat

Take it to your local mechanic. Check the computer code. It can be a faulty seatbelt sensor switch located on the seatbelt clip or it just needs to get cleared. Takes five minutes. If you take it to an acura dealer, they will charge you upwards of 100.00 to check.

Seat belt light flashes after seat belt is on

The new 2013 Bentley Mulsanne Mulliner has the same thing.I know on the Bat Mobile it means the ejector seat is not fully charged.

The only generic answer I can conclude with information you provide is ;

1) The passenger seat of a newer general motors car

2) The seatbelt light does not light up when the seat is not occupied

3) The passenger side Airbag (SRS) has been turned OFF

4) While occupied , the seatbelt light on the insrument cluster lights steady

5) when the seatbelt is active (buckled with a passenger) the light flashes.

6) anybody?

Reset srs light after replacing seatbelt

To reset the SRS light on an Acura Integra, pull down the SRS service connector. Unplug this connector so you have access to jump the harness. Start with the ignition OFF. Jump the SRS plug. Turn the ignition ON. The SRS light will come on then off.------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2006 mitsubishi lancer, i put a book under drivers seat and it pulled srs plug apart. I snapped back together but light stayed on. Someone told me directions to reset. I needed battery anyway so I waited...

if your happy with the seat belt as it is and its operating fine, they can not force you to buy it from them. Just get the snapped plug replaced, even cheaper from a breaker, then ask for the light to be reset using there diagnostic equipment. All dealers, well most, will try for that extra buck.

SRS-seatbelt response system, is a part of your airbag system and braking system, once you hit brakes very hard SRS makes sure that the belt is getting tight, in case of collision seatbelt gets stiff and the airbag blows up. SRS light coming on and staying for few seconds is fine as computer is checking the system, once it stays on or flashes you need top go to a garage as you might get a surprise blow in the face by the airbag.

The SRS light stay on

SRS stands for supplemental restraint system. You have a problem with the airbag system. The seat belts have sensors to let air bag module know if they are buckled. Could be a bad buckle seat belt will work fine .This may be a common problem is why they said seatbelt problem
