My heat works on all settings whenever it comes on, but it can take up to an hour for the fan to kick in.

If the engine itself is running on the hot side, that's could be a thermostat/ heater control valve. If the engine itself is running up to par (cooling system, fans etc) sounds like a heater control valve issue.) Inside fan works well, no odd vent smell (rotten eggs). Heater control valve. Good luck Frank M

My heat kicks on, I can hear it and feel heat when placing hand on vents. However,Nothing blows out.

Blower is not running ? Or is ?if the blower fans not working check fuses or replace motor , if your heat cycles and your blower blows cool air , its likely a heater core issue

When I turn on my heat or air, nothing happens. There is a slight hint of heat or AC coming out of the vents when I have it set at 4. It will occasionally work, if I hit a bump just right, and it kicks...

If I'm reading this correctly- your blower isnt working? the fan doesn't blow? If the blower comes on over hard bumps, probably the blower motor is bad. More common is blower resistor, but try to find motor & bang on it while switched on...if it comes on, the motor is bad.

Check pressure of refrigerant 134. Pressure maybe low so the compressor clutch will not kick in. Refrigerant are available in most automotive parts store. Just make sure you do not over charge the system because it gives you the same indication.

2003 Focus speedo not working

You need to idle the car for a while to get it started to heat up to switch on the fan. the thermocouple must sense the heat to switch on the fan. If not the relay and the fan must be checked individually with an external supply to confirm if the auto sensor is faulty. Also check for the fan fuse if there is no supply to the relay. Finally the speedometer is faulty and needs to be replaced unless it is struck on the high side which can be confirmed ONLY if you remove the panel and tap it to come to rest.

I have a 93 Saab and my vents aren't blowing heat. When I hit a bump in the road it may kick my heat on full blast for a couple of minutes, but as soon as I hit another bump, the heat kicks off. Also, the...

You don't say whether the fan starts and shuts off with the bumps, or the heat goes cold but the fan stays on. If it's the fan shutting off and coming back, you most likely have an intermittent connection to the blower motor somewhere at the fuse box, the fan speed control switch or the fan motor, or a loose ground connection at the fan motor. The fan motor is visible under the right side speaker grille on the dash. Make sure you re-connect the short black corrugated hose to the grill vent or you won't have defrosting on that side!

The air distribution rotary switch controls where the air goes. The fan speed switch controls exactly that: fan speed. the temp rotary switch controls the coolant temp into the heater core. You need to clarify what you mean by "Also, the dash controls for the vents won't allow me to turn up the power"

You might also have one or more of the following issues:
  1. is you vacuum tank properly connected and are there no leaks in the vacuum piping? The tank is in the driver side rear wheel well below the trunk deck on a convertible, and in the passenger side front fender area on the other cars. It's a white bottle with one or two hoses connected to it. If not properly on, your vacuum operated heater flaps won't move. Does the air distribution knob make sucking or hissing noises when you set it to different positions? If not, check the tank connections, look for vacuum line leaks, then suspect the vacuum valve behind the distribution knob.
  2. if the air distribution rotary switch makes noises when you change its setting, but nothing happens, then suspect the vacuum solenoids that open and close the heater flaps - could be a loose vacuum line or a defective vacuum solenoid
  3. the shaft connecting the temp control knob to the heater valve behind it may not be properly in place. This can be inspected, and adjusted if necessary, from the left side speaker/vent cutout on top of the dash. Make sure you re-connect the black flex hose to the air vent tube, or you'll get no defrosting afterwards!
  4. remember, the centre vents always blow cold air; a brilliant idea from Saab so the driver (and passenger) can get fresh air in the face and stay awake while the rest of the driver, passenger and car is toasty!

Heat fan not working in 2001 ford escape

GM uses vaccum to operate the blend doors on their heating and air conditioning systems. There is either a cracked hard plastic line or a cracked, unplugged vaccum line somewhere. If you have done any work to the vehicle latelt I would start by looking there first.

Heat

No heat or no air volume? No heat may mean no coolant! check it now! Your 4.2 wont stand for being overheated. No volume, check the fuse, if ok then turn on you fan and check for voltage at the electrical connector at the blower motor (under the glovebox). If you dont have a test light, tap the blower motor . If that kicks it to life you need a blower motor.
