Hi just put new motor in i find i dont have no drive and reverse on my transmission plus i hav a air leak off the intake manifold its comes off the pipe tht goes to the rocker cover there,s a little pipe...

Check that you have connected the wires to the transmission as it appears that the transmission control module (TCM) is not working. I hope you bolted the torque converter up to the flex plate in the assembly of the unit. That little pipe works the pcv valve and it is controlled by vacuum from the manifold. Make sure that hose is tight on all fittings.

2001 Passat 1.8 Turbo engine sputtering and hesitating

My car was doing this and I had to get all new coil packs... Mine were replaced under recall at the dealership at no cost. If you take each code and google it, or even check a VW forum, I'm sure the members there can provide a lot more thorough information...... I have a 2001.5 Passat myself and when one thing goes out they all follow suit. I will help with some research for you and post back...... But I'd check the coil packs that sit atop the spark plugs.

Exhaust Flex Pipe; How to replace?

You can change the entire section of exhaust pipe that the flex pipe is in. It's usually bolted to the catalytic converter, on the back end, and to the exhaust manifold at the front end. It's just a matter of unbolting it and bolting on the new section of exhaust with new gaskets. You could also go to a muffler shop and have them cut out the old flex pipe and weld in a new piece of flex pipe in it's place. It's for you to decide which option is best for you, and for your wallet.

The O2 sensor was changed last month. The check engine light returned. The dealer said there was a leak in the flex pipe. Recommend replace flex pipe. Did that. problem still exist. When driving the car...

Replacing an O2 sensor generally is "fixing the symptom" instead of fixing the cause. A good O2 sensor will often trigger a code if the exhaust mixture it is "seeing" is out of its range to adjust. If the pipe was bad when the sensor was changed, or if another part of the engine management system is out of range, it can cause the new sensor to fail or trigger the check engine light. In your case, I'd clear the codes and see if that helps. If not, you likely will need to do better diagnosis and perhaps again change the sensor if everything else checks out as good.

New automatic transmission was installed but does not go forward or in reverse?

Heres some ideas start with the basics make sure you have trans fluid to the correct level. Next maybe the torque converter was not bolted on. Last maybe the trans is defective I know you say its new but even new parts come defective.

My exhaughst sounds normal in park ....when in drive it sounds like a boat .... reverse is worse ... happend all a sudden .... any ideas ?....

YOU have a broken flex pipe most likely when you put in gear motor shifts and causes gap allowing exhaust leak.

Problem.. not sure what it is

Check you ehaust system.

There is a expansion/flex pipe right under the engine and it sounds like that may have busted on you.

When you are going forward the pipe is in one position and when you put it in reverse, that pipe is shifted into another position.
