Yes, engine is cranking. Sometimes will come on for a second then dies. Friend said no gas pressure & will need one day to work on it to change a fuel thing-y. He's charging $150 for parts & ??? for his labor. Is he right?

    Thanks,

Water shouldn't have caused this unless motor was really hot and you poured ice water in it, I think there is another issue

The water will not stop your car from starting unless it freezes in the water pump. Tray to leave your car in a worm place and tray to start. When you turn the key do hear any crunk or engine turning?.

Heater on 2004 ford tauras stopped getting hot suddenly

check coolant level first and make sure no air trapped in system. Ask shop to use evac/fill equipment to purge air.

cold engine - remove cap & fill radiator with 50/50 mix antifreeze/water. install cap.

fill reservoir 3/4 full. run engine until upper rad hose is hot. let cool and see if it sucks coolant from reservoir. Keep res 3/4 full. repeat.

Heater blowes cold air clamping the hose worked for a month .

Could be a cooling system problem; Ranges from a leak in the radiator, radiator hoses, coolant reservoir, low coolant, even a bad coolant reservoir cap could cause it. Also water pump is a possibility. If not those, could be a bad blend door actuator.

After flushing radiator for 1986 Ford Taurus, where do the coolant go? In the radiator or in the reservoir? And Do you have to idle with heat at full blast before adding the coolant?

Put the coolant directly into the radiator until it's full. Start the engine and run it, watching the fluid level. Keep the coolant within one inch of the neck. Fill the reservoir about half way when the radiator is full.

My 95 Taurus Sho 3.2L, stalls every day. All lights comes on when it stalls. The coolant reservoir is full but, the light in the panel shows LOW COOLANT. Ford Dealer can't find the problem. They used the...

Will it stall if you keep your foot on the gas like the Idle speed is set low? Possible Idle speed motor? I'll have to look up the location of the low coolant sensor.

Coolant won't stay in reservoir.

a good mechanic would have replaced the thermostat when he did the water pump.
May not even have been the water pump in the first place.
Car may have a vapour lock under the thermostat from leting the coolant out when replacing the water pump , and not filling and bleeding the system correctly.
Thermostat won't open if no hot coolant can get to it.

Hi!
Sounds like your Heater Matrix/Core is weeping, the brown stuff is possibly a leak sealer which someone before used to stop it.
You could try some more? remember to bleed the coolant as an air lock is possibly causing your overheating.
Park on level, when cold remove cap, start leave to idle when hot it should bubble over, top up with very warm water, wait it may do it again.
When happy pop in your leak sealer and hopefully your sorted.
Good luck! and please remember to rate my effort.

If your car has been running hot because radiator fan inopt.and oily subtance in the coolant, There is a good chance you have leaking head gaskets.
