There are two styles of clips securing the brake switch, which is mounted above the brake pedal. They both require a bit of patience and agility as it's pretty difficult to reach. But once you pop the clip off it's as simple as disconnecting the electrical connection, replacing the switch and popping the new clip on. I've had luck using various picks and screwdrivers to remove the clip.

1991 Chevy c1500 2wd - left brake caliper locks up after 20 miles, releases when cooled down. I removed and replaced offending caliper but problem persists


Replace the rubber brake hoses

They are collapsed inside

You never do only one caliper,
you do both

Now you need to turn the rotors & new pads

Why wont my brake light turn off on a 1991 chevy c1500


sounds like the brake switch is sticking. its on top of brake pedal arm. when applying brakes the pedal makes contact with the switch and turns on brake lights. if the switch sticks or its out of adjustment brake lights will stay on.

My 1990 Chevy C1500 has no lighting on the inside or to the tail lights/brake lights.


With a test light check if you have power to the turn signal switch located on the steering colume under the dash if it checks out you have power replace turn sinal switch

Maybe you accidently disconnected the wire to the brake switch behind the brake pedal?

Replace brake switch on 1995 chevy cheyenne 1500


Brake switch wiring good, can manually make switch and brake lights work. But when installed and brake pedal mashed does not work. Slight pressure on rear of switch will allow to work. How do you keep switch stationary? Switch is clamped around booster rod and has clip installed. Switch is new. Is there a brake pedal adjustment? HELP PLEASE.......... 1995 CHEVY 1500, 5.0L ENGINE

Tryng to figure out what looks like inside of drum brakes of a chevy 1997 C1500 truck


very simple, just remove the wheel, then remove the drum and there you go, the inside of the rear drum brakes.
if you plan on taking stuff apart your better have the proper tools and knowledge before you go any further.

Brake push rod


You will need to remove the the retainer clip and remove the brake switch and the rod will then slide off the pedal pin.
