1 Answer

I just replaced the alternator and battery in my 2000 Grand Marquis and the other day it kept stalling but would always restart. Could it be my spark plugs?

Removing the battery may have wiped the comupter's memory. If the engine has high miles it may run like that until it has run for five minutes or so. If you can get it to run and stay running (don't be afraid to give it some throttle for a minute or so and then try to let it idle) and if it runs ok after that, then you just wiped the memory. Also make sure the belt is on right, it will fit a few different ways but only one is right.

My car wont start. I replaced my battery but it still wont start. Tested the alternator and it is good. Something might be draining the battery but not sure what?

Does the engine spin over and not start? Or turn the key and nothing happens?
New spark plugs and wires won't have anything to do with the starter and battery keeping the engine from spinning when you turn the key.
Need more specific explanation. Thanks,

Where are the spark plugs located on a 2000 Mercury grand Marquis?

There are eight COPs (coil-on-plugs) to remove. Using a 7mm or 9/32" socket, remove each bolt securing each COP to the intake manifold on top of the engine. Remove all eight COPs, and the spark plugs are underneath. When replacing the spark plugs, use only the proper Ford/Motorcraft plugs, even if they cost twice as much as the aftermarket ones. You will avoid further headaches this way. Hope this helps.

1992 Grand Marquis won't start after having starter, alternator and solenoid replaced

With the ignition on, underneath the plastic beauty cover on the fuel rail is a schrader valve to check the fuel pump pressure. Injectors need 31-36 psig to work properly.
