Question about 1993 Ford Tempo
If its a true serp belt/tensioner its auto adjusting. If you want to take it off get a 3/8 in drive ratchet or breaker bar (BB is better) and pull it to either side (the direction needed is different depending on the engine) until it disengages the belt. If its not holding tight enough the spring in it is shot and it needs to be replaced. if you have a V-belt setup the adjustments are usually the alternator and power steering pump.
