Owners manual brakes 2001 devele

Since even rear drum brakes can differ, I am going to send you to a video that I recommend to other people who have wanted to do their own rear brakes. Watch this video BEFORE you start the work. It will show you the tools you are going to need. It will also tell you things that would take too long in this reply.
Watch this video and best of luck:

HOW TO ADJUST REAR BRAKES ON 1993 CADILLAC DEVILLE

About adjusting the rear brakes on your Deville If my memory serves me right you have 4 wheel disc brakes, and if so there is no adjustment other then for the emergency brake. However to manually adjust the rear brakes (they are self adjusting when you back up and pump the pedal) take off the drum and measure the circumference using a tool made for doing that (you could probably borrow it from Auto Zone) Once you have set the measurements of the drum hold the tool to the brake linings and adjust brakes by turning the star adjuster located at the bottom and in-between the brake shoes. NOTE you can only turn it in one direction and that is to tighten. If you can't turn it then it must be removed taken apart and cleaned then use oil to lube it before you put it back on.

Where is the bleeder valve on the rear of 87 Cadillac Deville

If you are referring to the brake bleeder valve, it is located on the wheel cylinders on the backing plate of the brakes for the drum brakes. Follow the brake lines to this bleeder valve. However, it might be rusty and must be soaked in penetrating oil or brake fluid before trying to turn it.

If you are referring to the air ride suspension, look at the rear axle area and look for a lever that controls the 'air bleed' for the air shocks. Follow the small (in diameter) plastic air lines from either of the rear shocks to the bleeder valve.

If the springs are clamped on then the most likely cause is that the e-brake is set. That would be the only thing causing your brakes to be clamped

I had the same problem with my 98 Cadillac Deville. I changed the power steering pump and the hose that runs to the rack. The problem was solved, loud noises and whining stopped.

I need a diagram of a rear drum brake assembly on the driver side of a 1987 cadillac fleetwod

The easiest way to get a view is to remove the drum from the passenger side. They both look exactly the same. The only thing that is different is the threads on the star wheel at the bottom. One is left hand thread and one is right hand thread. Hope this helps.
