Find the Info/setup/reset button and hit setup until you see the option to change units, then hit reset until the desired unit is selected.

Temperature gauge goes up down

that is a strange one , i think the problem is with the exterior temp sender as the fan cutting in and temp gauge falling is what you'd expect ,try diconnecting the exterior temp gauge ,may be a fuse for it ,if that is all ok i'd get the ECU checked as may be getting a short let me know how it goes

My 2007 Chevy HHR 2.2L, coolant temp sensor is reading that the coolant temp is 20 degrees warmer than the outside temp after sitting for over 12 hours and the operating temp gets to 214 degrees without...

Sure the engine coolant will be warmer than the outside temperture and if the car has been sitting a long time in cold weather and the outside temperture warms up it could be the other way around. The coolant temperture sensers aren't real accurate as they are a relaitive senser beween hot and cold and the numbers reported don't have to be real just the change from hot to cold and the reching of the coolant to the operating temperture. Noe it the senser doesn't read the opertating temperture coprrectly you'll have all kinds of problems. The therostaste will try to set the temperture of the water to it's set temperture and can open or close completly to get 195 degrees F. Many times if it's too cold then the stat is bad and needs to be replaced This shows up in alot of cars first thing after winter and the first onset of cold weather when the daily tempertures vary the most from day to night.

Ext tempeture on a/c display show exterior tempeture at 50 degree;s but it is in the 90's

in the grill area is a sensor it is very comon for the sensor to go bad ,check it to make sure it is clean of debrie (bugs) un plug the sensor see if the temp changes if it does thats most likly your problem, you can test the sensor with a ohm meter by warming it up while reading the resistance

Outside temp error

it is in front of the ac/radiator core,2 wires going to it, but they seldom fail, in most cases it is the little circuit that takes the signal and translates it to a number, let me know how much it is off, (+) or (-) 3 F degrees is ok. also be aware that the system does not update as soon as u start the car, it is averaged, u must drive a certain number of miles before it will read current ambient temp.
