The regulator is built into the Alternator and the belt looks good.

The alternator should be putting out 13 to 14 volts into the system when the car is on. Are you testing 11.2 from the battery or from the vehicle when the engine is going? Is the voltage regulator built into the alternator or is it seperate? How does the alternator belt look? The belt could be slipping slightly causing the alternator not to put out the proper voltage when the engine rpms lower during deceleration. I would think it is a bad voltage regulator, alternator, of the belt slipping. The light is coming on because the voltage is dropping below 13v during deceleration. It is also possible that the new alternator is also bad. So inspect the belt and replace if bad and make sure it is tight if ok,verify the voltage regulator is good(if it is not built into the alternator) and double check the battery cables are tight and corrosion free. Also amke sure the battery is good and charged.Let me know if you need more advice.

What is the output voltage that you are getting from the electrcial system when the engine is at idle then at higher rpm say around 2000rpm? Have you used a scanner to see what voltage the computer is reading? The computer is going to set the light off and may not be getting the correct voltage reading from the electrical system. You may need to use a scanner to run a data log from the computer while driving and see what voltage the computer is seeing when you are decelerating an and the battery light comes on. Your electrical system may be charging correctly and the computer is getting the incorrect reading then turning on the battery light.

You said the belt looks good but also re-check the tension on the belt for the alternator is correct. You stated you replaced the alternator and the belt might be too lose or too tight. It sounds like the belt might be slipping to me if the light is coming on during deceleration.

My 1993 Toyota Corolla stalls and will not stay running.

If changing the battery does not solve problem, or only solves it until the battery dies then have the alternator tested. I have noticed on several occasions with a couple of my vehicles that at times of very high moisture in the air they do not stay running, once the humidity goes down they are fine.

You most likely have a bad alternator that is not charging the battery properly. Have the battery charged fully and replace the alternator. This should fix your problem.

Check alternator voltage at back of alternator ( big wire ), if you have no less then 13.5 volt's, alternator is ok, check for blown alternator fuse or break at wire from back of alternator to starter then to battery, could be a bad fuse link at starter.

It might leave you stranded. Because without the alternator. which I think is your problem your battery will run down in a very short time. Even if you had a new battery.Check the belt first as Toyota Ed suggested. If it's good, and not broken. Replace the alternator and if you have to, the battery also. One could affect the other.
