Question about 1997 Infiniti.5 J30

The lights that illuminate my speedometer and fuel gauge area are out. Can anybody tell me what fuse that may be to replace??

    No, it's the whole area that went out. It can't be every single bulb that went out. it has to be a fuse, cause now my tail lights are out, but the tail lamp fuse is not popped. It has to be the fuse for that whole are behind the steering wheel.

Sorry it's not a fuse. you need to replace the small light bulbs inside the instrument cluster.

    get yourself a fuse tester or if you have a fluke meter. use it to test all the fuses (in place) in the fuse box. there is a kit you can get from autozone. it has several fuses and a tester in it.

There should be an instrument panel fuse in the fuse box located inside the car. Check the fuse and replace in needed.

Dash lights dont work (speedometer and fuel gauge) lights do not illuminate. Is there another cause other than blown bulbs ?


there is a little roller knob to the left of the seering wheel (verticle) it will increase or decrease the dash lights. Did someone turn them off ??

check the fuses in your manual it will tell you which fuses are for the dash and replace them it sounds to me like they are blown! good luck

check the fuses and fuse link wires by the battery pull the fuse link wire with your finger if it feels spongy or comes apart in your hand you need to replace it with a new fuse link wire

dear friend-al these items mentioned runs of the same fuse find the fuse and you will find the problem,if you look at the fuse it might not look blown but,replace it anyway,it might be a dry joint.

The left side of the dash won't light up.


Check fuses on fuse panel. Take car to autozone and have them find / locate your fuse block. You check fuses and light bulbs with a volt ohm meter.(vom can be bought @ wal-mart, target, kmart etc. an investment - not a cost.
