Question about 2002 Ford Explorer
Here is what I am being told:
You have a problem with the transponder not reading the key. It is a computer problem in the vehicle and the dealership can diagnose it correctly as to whether you demagnetized the key, or the transponder failed, or whether it is a main computer problem in the vehicle.
This is not an uncommon problem with these vehicles.
If you have an alarm with anti theft it was installed with a transponder box inside of the box is an uncut key for your truck.sometimes they dont read properly. you can access the box usually under the dash. open the box make sure key is in position and is plugged in.what im telling you is what i just dealt with on my 02 explorer. take a look. good luck.
