Question about 1998 Toyota RAV4
Toyota Rav4 1998. Why is the engine different for a 4wd 5sp than a 2wd 5sp?
I need to replace the engine and the engine people all note that I need a 4wd engine?? I could see the trans and such being different. But did Toyota actually make a physically different engine for 4WD.
If it is a replacement engine long block or short block does it really make a difference? I own both 4wd manual and 2wd manual 1998 Rav4s....I will crawl under to look for the differnce but it would be nice to know the Professional difference.
Bonus question for the Pro's: how can I tell if I have the special option Torsen LSD differential in my 98 4WD Rav4 (my rav has leather interior, moonroof, etc so why not the LSD too! It would be nice to know? also for fluid replacement as it most likely requires special additive for the limited slip diff.
