If everything else is OK, the code will eliminate itself after about fifty re-starts. It's not a problem and will not affect the way the engine runs.

I have a 94 cherokee with a 24 check engine code,What does that mean and how much to fix?

24 should be a throttle position sensor code. There are component level tests you can do to verify its condition. Part is about $45. Are you showing any symptoms or are you just code checking?

94 jeep grand cherokee v8 5.2

12 is usually a power disconnect, 14 is usually a map sensor 56 I'm not sure of...likely you mis-read it and it was a 55, indicating that the code sequence has ended (nothing code)...right after which, codes repeat.

How to clear the diagnostic codes on my 1993 jeep cherokee?

To clear codes on these, you can disconnect the battery, then re-connect. The only code remaining will be one indicating battery power was interuppted. This will not work on 98 and newer vehicles.
