Question about 1996 Honda Civic

1 Answer

Hi guys, I am used to drive a manual transmision car, but i try to use the automatic transmission car for the first time and I am confuse if you are going up on a skyway with a stiff climbing, will the car can climb even if its gear position is on the D4? Since we use to start moving the car from P-position to a forward motion we shift it to D4. Do we need to shift t to D3 or D2? How can we shift while the car is running? Or we just leave it as it is at D4 and let the car continue going up? Please share some of your advice. Thanks Tito

1995 dodge stratus transmission slips sometimes

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

You may want to replace the transmission fluid as well for it can be burnt.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi. I am insterested in a 1999 VW Cabrio. The car seems to operate great and is a good little car with 120,000 miles. My only concern is that when shifting the cars automatic transmission seems to stay in...

those car have very high maintenance and repair costs, think a long time before you devote any money to one. the transmission had lived its design life 20,000 miles ago and is on borrowed time. just may be the seller would rather unload it as opposed to fixing it.

Hi I need to make tune up to automatic transmision for Mitsubishi Outlander 2003 but the auto parts told me this auto don't need this tune up

Engines get tuned up. Transmissions get the filter and fluid changed. The auto parts store guy misunderstood what you want to do.

Automatic Transmission problem

Sounds more like a speed sensor located at the transmission. Have your car scanned for a Trouble code. They do it for free at most car parts stores (ie. AutoZone, Kragen's Checker..)
