Question about 1996 Isuzu Rodeo
1996 Rodeo, 3.2L. I can't find rear window defogger circuit in the Haynes manual. Found the fuses, they're OK. Is there a relay in the circuit? What voltage should be found at the terminals of the heat grid?
Check both fuses on the left side of the dash, CB-17 & CB-18. Both need to be good for the defroster to work.
Next, check the relay behind the left kick panel. You will find 4 relays there, the one you are concerned with is the top relay. Pins 2 & 4 are the low amp side and pins 1 & 5 are the high amp side. Check it to make sure it is good as well.
You may want to trace the hot lead (black / red) from the defroster grid back to pin 1 of the relay to make sure there is continuity. Check the ground lead (black) from the defroster grid back to ground to make sure there is continuity.
12VDC is what you are looking for - there is no step-down transformer in the circuit.
