1995 jeep grand cherokee blower wont shut off EVER.

I remove the fuse when i leave the truck and replace before i drive. All other air functions seem to work fine(heat and A/C). I've tried letting it sit to see if it will turn off on its own but no.

Check the blower switch and make sure it is not shorted. If it is it can keep the blower on all the time. Also on some cars at the blower is a resister that can short out. Check the switch first and we can go from there just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee shuts off when put in gear

Hi there:
First I suggest remove the air intake hose to the engine and clean the throttle body bore out real good with some carb spray. If it still acts up, replace the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Also, keep in mind check the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, they were very common to fail.

Additrionally, need to go on a diagnostic machine and a scan tool to see how all the sensors are working. Check and test for discard some vacuum leak.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Unplug the relay and see if it shuts off. Or unplug and remove the blower resistor and see if a broken wire on the resistor is causeing a short to power.

The lower speeds are controlled by a resistor block. That's what needs to be replace. It's usually located next to the blower. It will have electrical wires connected to it. High speed bypasses the block so it alway works.
If you want to replace it then;
) Disconnect the battery negative terminal if the vehicle have air bags. Wait 2 minutes for system to discharge.
) Remove the kick block on the passenger side. )Remve the glove box ) Remove the bolts holding the blower motor resistor. Push the red lock up and press down on the click ) Pull the block out. ) Install new block and reverse steps above.
