1998 dodge Ram 1500 4X4. The heater/AC blows out of defrost vents only, I am told this most likely a vacuum line, If this is true where is the vacuum line located.

In the engine compartment, locate black vacuum hose that runs from brake booster check valve to intake manifold, there will be a small vacuum hose attached to check valve at the power brake booster check valve. This is the vacuum line going to the heater control unit, check the hose all the way to the firewall, repair any leaks you find. And that should take care of your problem.......GOOD LUCK

Where do the vacuum hoses go from the control 1999 Dodge Pickup

first ... Make sure that you have vacuum to your control head. This is normally the black vacuum line. The vacuum than goes to the various vacuum motors on the Heater /AC case. These vacuum motors rarely fail. The normal fault is loss of engine vacuum ..cut line or not secure to engine. second.. a fault with the vacuum reserve reseviour. When the engine needs the vacuum this is your vacuum supply.

Where can I find the electrical schematic for the a/c fan control of my 2001 dodge 1500 cargo van so I can locate the resistor?

THE HEATER RESISTOR IS LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT..2 SCREWS AND A 4 WIRE CONNECTOR..VERY CLOSE TO WHERE AIR INTAKE HOSE RUNS TO AIR CLEANER HOUSING..FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE TO REPLACE..PICK UP A NEW ONE AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR

U need to check the vacuum source to the heater/ac control vacuum switch, the source of the vacuum is a vacuum reservoir supplied by the engine

Heater does not blow hot air ,just mild warm air

Make sure the raditor is full. Don't just check the overflow tank but pull the cap when the engine is cold and make sure the fluid is to the top. If that is good then check vacuum line that controls the flapper that diverts air from airconditioner to heat. My 1999 Dodge 1500 had this problem and it was a cracked vacuum line.

Fuel System

If you remove air intake hose at throttle body, and spray WD-40 in throttle body , and it starts, you have a fuel problem. WD-40 works like quick start spray, only a little easier on the engine.
