SOURCE: Heater not working

Depending on what package the Jeep came with, you could have a broken or disconnected vacuum line to the heater doors.
If it's electronic, there could be a blend door accuator not working.
There could be a bad heater control valve or just a engine thermostat that's staying open all the time.

SOURCE: Heater blows cold air when idle

Sounds like you may have a partially plugged heater core. You could flush this out separately, from flushing radiator & engine block. Diconnect heater hoses going to your heater core and clamp off, so not to loose coolant from engine. Now hook up separate hose to one side of heater core pipe and flush out with typical garden hose. Repeat procedure on both heater core inlets. Reconnect original heater hoses and test difference. You may have to add an additional litre of antifreeze. If this don't work i suggest changing heater core. Good luck.........Ron.

SOURCE: Heater blows cold air

If the "Heater In Hose" gets hot, and the "Heater Out Hose" does not get hot, than either the Control Valve is sticking closed, or your heater core is plugged up with ****!

Have you used "Barrs Leak" or a simular product for a radiator leak? That will sometimes clog the heater core.

I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee, which "Normally" throws very hot air out of the heater, but lately sometimes it only throws warm air, till I make my first stop, than it gets hot.....all because the heat control valve is hanging up.

Low water in the radiator will also cause a heater to not work.....if the water level is too low to circulate to the heater.

SOURCE: 01 jeep grand cherokee heater works on driver side

You have 2 posibilities.there are 2 motors on the heater box that run the blend doors for each side. That side motor may be bad or worst case the blend door arm that connects to the motor is broken. If it is broken the whole dash has to be removed so the heater box can be taken out to replace the blend doors.Big job,do a heater core while your there if you fix it so you dont have to do it again.

Jeep Cherokee TD LTD won't start, has new glow plugs; starter motor and new ignition; It started when first done, but now it's cold it won't fire up what else can it be?

wow, no year, nor country car was sold. wow.!
lots really.
but i cant do my testing, with my tools.
did you scan it yet?
the glow plugs dont work all by them selves they need power to do that. ( controller) I have this ammeter, i clam on the glow plug wires. and see heater current , if zero then the plug is open or
the controller is malfing.
i presume the car starts warm and runs all day .... but all I have is one word :cold to assume that....
does engine start with diesel starter spray.?
if yes, then the glow plugs are the issue,
if not , its fueling issues.
why not scan it first. and not waste time and cash on good parts.

what does
and new ignition? mean?
the key switch?

My 1999 jeep cherokee sport TD doesn't start in cold weather. battery seems fine, engine turns but doesn't fire. fuel filter? pump? At first pressing the button on the filter/pump a few times worked, but...

fit non return valves in both the feed and return pipes to hold the diesel pressure up ,then check and renew the glow plugs as necessary ,also fit a manula overide onto the heater circuit with a push button type switch inside the cab so heaters can be held on whilst cranking the engine this will cure it for sure

Wont start in morning

Hi if the car is a diesel engine then you need to repalce the glow plugs these are used to heat up the diesel for starting the car from cold once the car has been run or if the temp is not to cold then the glow plugs dont need to all work and it will then start.

The problem points to the glow plugs if the car starts ok when it is up to temperature if when the car is upto running temperature and then still has trouble starting then the problem will be with the diesel pump itself. If its the pump and not the glow plugs then this could be an expensive repair.
If its the glow plugs then these can be brought relatively cheap and are not to much trouble to replace if you have done this type of repair yourself.

Let me know if your car is petrol or if you need further assistnace then i will assist you further ok
