I have a 1991 Honda Accord sedan. The ignition switch sometimes sticks in the ''start'' position when I start the car and doesn't automatically spring back to just the ''on'' position. Unless I specifically look for this condition, the starter motor keeps on turning while I drive. Its like it ''catches'' on something inside the switch. What should I replace?

You have to replace your ignition switch. This is not easily done, your best bet is to take it to a locksmith and have him do it for you. If you try to do it yourself you will never get it out of there.

I have one Honda Accord 1999. One time, when I was driving, brake and steering wheel locked; oil light, battery light and brake light were on. What's happened to my car?

I have '99 accord LX 4cyl sedan and the ignition switch is a problem for these cars. I replaced my ignition 2 or 3 years ago because it would randomly shut off and sometimes not start back up right away. It only got worse until I fixed it, it would die on the highway or freeway sometimes. Haven't had that problem since. i think it cost like $240 or so. Also if you have an automatic, be careful, they are notoriously bad for going out after 100k miles. mine did and its an expensive fix. good luck.

Car turns but won't stay running

Check fuel pump fuse and all other fuses, check brake switch, Also, a worn ignition switch will cause the car to start sometimes but not always. Try turning the switch to on position, then jiggle the key around in the switch while pushing in a bit...now start the car...did it start? If yes, replace switch and/or key cylinder....

1991 honda accord lx cooling fan

Some vehicles have sensors that can control the electric fan with the ignition off to keep the heat buildup that naturally occurs right after turning off the engine. This can prevent hard starting that can happen with a hot engine. If it is doing this an abnormal amount, the sensor that is operable with the ignition off may be failing. Before turning off the ignition, check to see if the engine temperature is pushing the 'red zone;' if it is, then the fan operation may be normal but your engine may be running hot.

1991 honda accord ex headlight problems

Hello, firstly I was wondering if the lights shut off when you pull the switch off the harness?
If YES, then THAT switch or wiring could be bad
if NO, then it's most likely the body control module

Keys/ignition

Ok, a couple of questions: 1. how long have u owned the car?
2. has this ever happened before, but the key came out eventually?
3. Has it ever felt like it was sticking when removing?
Here are a few ideas, When the key is in the off position, are u pushing the key in towards the steering column, while trying to turn it further to the off position (counter clock wise as u face the ignition slot and key)?
Try spraying a lubricant (wd-40 is excellent) around the key, into the ignition switch (u won't harm it)
Wiggle the key around, and spray several times, this just might work.
If all this fails, I'm afraid something came loose inside the switch, (unusual due to the car being an 07 and a Honda) which is preventing removal of the key. Please let me know how u make out Good luck countrycurt0
