Question about 2000 Saturn Ls 4dr Sedan

1 Answer

I replaced the starter in my '00 Saturn LS 2.2 and it still won't

I disconnected the battery for about 3 days and now when I turn the ignition the starter rotates but the engine won't fire. Is there a simple solution to my problem?

My 2000 saturn won't start; won't turn over or make any sounds when trying to start it...replace the battery this week. what could this be?

Might be the antitheft system. GM vehicles are notorious for bad antitheft security systems. When these begin to fail, they will lock out the starter at the ignition. Read about it on this link http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

there is not an inline fuse to starter, but if there is a bad ground to engine the starter will not turn over eather. more likely tap the starter with a hammer while trying to start the car to see if the arbuature is stuck in. or pull it compleetly and take it to auto zone to have them test it.

1996 Saturn SL2 - No response from starter - over past 3 days it has been intermitant - all lights from ignition switch but no response from starter - In 100 attempts, it has started 3 times - Battery is...

It would be hard to guess but a simple diagnostic would be to use a 12v test light and see if the starter solenoid recieves a 12 v signal while turning the key. If it lights, the starter should turn over. This also gives you the oportunity to check and verify all electrical connections at the starter including the large orange fusible link wire at the large battery terminal.

2002 saturn sl2 will not start for no apparant reason then 1 to 3 days later starts, while trying it 2-3 times a day. Towed to a garage both times and they could find nothing wrong.

Why couldn't they find anything wrong? The main componants should be tested first. (the starter, srarter relay, any related wiring, ignition switch, and all connections at battery, relay, fuse, starter, and eng. block). Good luck.
