You must have a 3.0L engine in this van,I'v pulled 100's of these pans over the years, you have to remove the brackets, front bracket needs 18mm and 13/16th socet to that job, 18mm socket and flat wrench, for the rear one, once those are out of the way, this pan is glued pretty good to the block, screwdivers might pry in loose, jamb between the pan rail and block, if not, get out your propane torch and heat the pan rail a little, leave a couple of bolts on each side in a few threads, cause in will fall down. GOOD LUCK, RDJRP

Change front main seal , leaking oil around timing chain cover. could be seal around harmonica balancer.

yes, I just changed one of these recently. Had to take both front and bottom off engine. Very difficult repair, as there are no good jack points for the engine when you have all the motor mounts off.
Here is procedure I would recommend.
Remove starter and engine to transmission brackets front and back.
Remove transmission starter gear cover.
drain oil and remove oil pan.
put a block under the crankshaft and jack to release weight on motor mount.
remove front motor mount (by serpentine belt)
remove belt.
remove compressor and bracket.
remove crank pulley and vib damper.
remove timing cover. mark timing belt with direction of travel
loosen tensioner gear.
remove timing belt.
remove crankshaft timing gear and key.
remove seal and oil pump housing.
clean gasket surfaces.
replace seal and reverse procedure.

If you have questions, let me know.

How to replace a powersterling pulley on 1999 dodge grand caravan

The procedure to remove the power steering pulley out of the 1999 dodge caravan engine is as follows:----

· First disconnect the black, negative cable from the battery.

· Then Take off the windshield wiper module.

· Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack.

· Then from underneath the vehicle remove the drive belt splash shield .

· Locate the power steering pump bracket and--working from underneath the car--loosen the through bolt; then remove the pressure hose routing bracket.

· Place a catch pan on the floor, underneath the power steering pump fluid reservoir, and siphon as much steering fluid from the tank; then remove the pressure and fluid supply hoses from the pump.

· Take off the rear pump mounting bolt and front mounting bolts through the pulley. Make sure to grab and keep the spacer located between the pump and mounting bracket once you remove the bolts.

· Take the pump and pulley assembly over the aluminum bracket and out of the engine.

Reinstall all parts and new pulley in reverse.

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

If you have a coil compressor or take the struts to a shop that has one. The oil pan gasket shouldn't be an issue.

TO answer all your questions, the red oring is for the oil pump pickup tube, one bolt will fix that, RTV sealet is used in the seperation seams at the timing cover and rear seal retainer, 1/6th thick bead, 1/4" wide at seams, has for the trans inspection cover remove it for the repair, 5 bolts will do that part, and rear bracket, then the pan is ready to come off...
