Question about 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab

1 Answer

2007 F350 6.0 deisel sluggish and won't move without warm-up!!!

Has to warm up for 10min before it will move. Is this an EGR valve problem? If it is, is it as easily fixed as changing out the EGR core?
Hope so....

How to fix EGR flow insufficient

you don`t say what car you have so here is a generic way. remove the EGR valve and inspect for a clogged orifice on the valve, then check to see if the valve pintle moves. if the pintle moves then clean the valve ports. while the valve is off check the ports in the manifold for debris and clean out the port. you can start the car and you should hear exhaust gas coming out the port. this will indicate an unplugged passage. if the pintle won`t move and you can`t clean it to get it to move then replace the EGR valve.

No power from take off, sluggish

Changed your fuel filter lately? Deisel motors take a regular filter change as they collect water in the fuel and become clogged leading to bad performance and eventualy a no start condition.

EGR is maybe stuck open. disconnect the vac hose at the EGR valve and see if the idle smoothes out. If the EGR is sitcking open, thats a vac leak. If that fixes it, replace the EGR solenoid valve.

Truck running sluggish

Replace the fuel filter and clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Just fallow the instrction to the MAF cleaner. The other thing to is the 1995 4.3 is know to have the EGR valve getting sluggish due to carbon build up. Remove the EGR valve and use Carb cleaner on it to remove the EGR valve and make sure it moves freely. Good luck and hope this helps.
