This needs to be checked at either the dealer or a service center than can get a readout from the processor to isolate the problem. You should not drive the car too long with the light on and you are already noticing a decrease in performance. I wish I had a better answer, but the readout is the only sure way to make sure the problem is isolated and corrected.

Have it checked by a qualified repair shop, NOT ottqzone. theres a thousand reasons why that light could be on.

Iturned ignition key on off on off on off, and, check engine light blinked twice, then twice again, then blinked five times, then four times, then five times, then five times, can you tell me what that means

This may have altered the programming of the alarm or ignition cutout. Your car may have a body control module which may have been altered. It may be more helpful if you specify more details including what model car you have and if it has an alarm or engine immobiliser.

Engine Light - Cam Gears Problem??

sounds like a timing belt issue. Toyotas will run forever if you change the timing belt every 100,000 km, or 65,000 miles

2004 sebring conv. shuts off after getting of normal operating temp. Will start again after it cools off.

Did you do the key "Dance" for codes? Put key in ignition, turn to the "RUN" position - do not crank the engine - and return it back to the off position, do this four times, on the fifth time leave it in the "RUN" position and watch the check engine/power loss light and count the flashes. Should start with five flashes (start of test) followed by a couple series of flashes keep track of the number of flashes as this will tell you what sensor is on the fritz. The test is over when it flashes five times again. Also the chain stores will scan for zero cost.....Just for grins try unplugging the water temp sensor (usually near the thremostat) see if car stays running......Plug it back in to double check.

Driving normal, at 80 kms, car seems to studder a bit, (gas wise) engine light comes on. Stop car, re-start, everything fine, no engine light, at 60 kms, fine, get up to 80 km, engine light comes on and...

First try replacing air filter if not done recently $30, next consider bad fuel put in fuel from major oil company from station with many patrons. Then you need to look at fuel delivery system including fuel filter and furl pump. But first try the 2 things mentioned.

Started the car and the EBS and check engine lights illuminated.

dear friend:if the vehicle runs ok then it was just a freak appearance and if the engine light is still on then disconnect the battery for a short while and reconnect, the light should go off if not take it to a dealership to read the codes.

My mechanic in our town did a quick computer check. Car computer indicated a low level of antifreeze, he topped it up, cleared all messages off the car computer and said to watch the the heat guage for any further irregularities. I'll keep an eye on it, love the car, great mileage fun to drive.

Ford Focus Engine Light

Start by getting either a mechanic or someone with an OBDII scanner to read the code so you know where to start. Lots of time a loose gas cap will cause a "Evap system small leak" code which illuminates the check engine light for a while. Other than that I can't help you much without knowing what code comes up.
