1998 Jaguar XJ8L fuel pump needs replaced. Somebody who knows help As the weather started getting colder, the car was harder to start in the mornings. Eventually, after long drives the car wouldn't start at all. After a half an hour to an hour the car would start back up and run great. On a cold day the car just stopped working altogether.I no longer hear the fuel pump engaging when turning the key. Somebody please help

Jaguar xj8 1998 starting problems

sounds like you may have a clog in the fuel delivery system...Have you changed your fuel filter? If so,check the fuel pump pressure by getting a tester from Harbor Freight...connect to the chafer valve on the fuel rail...If the fuel pressuee is correct, and the filter has been changed please have the dealership do a pressurized intake cleaning.(3m product). It isnt that much to do but will make a great difference in the cars ability to start and the response will be much greater.

Need to replace fuel pump on a 1999 jaguar xj8. where is the pump located and can u get 2 it through the back seat or do u have to drop the gas tank.

Typically Jaguar fuel pumps are the submerged type (i.e. in the fuel tank) so you will need to remove the fuel tank or there might be a panel in the the tank that you can remove to get the the fuel pump. Good luck.

Jaguar XJ8 1998 3.2 cranks over but won't start, ran perfectly yesterday, although low on fuel at the time it still showed 30 miles range left.

fill with 5 gal of fuel, check fuel at motor , looks like tire valve, cover with rag and let evaporate if any comes out before starting

Wont start

Its not the fuel pump, 1998 jags are well known for the nikasil curse. Remove the spark plugs, sguirt oil down each bore and replace plugs after a few turns she should fire up
