We where driving the van when the chime came on and the oil light came on .checked oil and there is oil in van

Check the oil pressure sensor, its located directly above the oil filter. The sensor usually has a bright green connector. Oil pressure sensor failure is pretty common with Chrysler products. Thay are very easy to change with a deep 27MM socket. Look to see if the sensor is leaking oil as this is usually a tell-tale sign that the sensor has failed

If you do your plugs and wires yourself, pull the coil packs out for a much much MUCH simpler and less painful procedure.

I changed the oil and do not know how to delete the message, is ''change engine oil'' in the display panel. what can I do?

Chevrolet Suburban/GMC Yukon XL, 2000-05 Chevrolet GMC Trucks Silverado, Sierra, 1999-05 Chevrolet Venture 2000
Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However if the light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the procedure if the system does not reset.

Good luck and please rate. Keep me posted, and thank you for using fixya.

How do i reset change engine oil 2000 model chevrolet venture

. With the ignition key in RUN but the engine off, repeatedly push the trip/reset button until OIL is displayed on the Driver Information Center. 2. When OIL is displayed, push and hold the trip/reset button for five seconds. The number will disappear and be replaced by 100 (indicating 100% oil life remaining). 3. Turn the key to OFF. If the change engine oil message comes back on, the engine oil life monitor has not reset. Repeat the procedure

Oil light

If the oil light is on it's one of 2 things: You have no oil pressure, or the sending unit (also known as the oil pressure switch) is defective and is reading no pressure when there actually is normal pressure. You should always assume it means no pressure, because driving it this way will ruin the engine.
