Heating system in 02 durango broken

I had the bower motor and resistor replaced, now the air won't flow where i want it. what is the cheapest and easier way to determine if the valve/air flow director in my vehicles heating system is malfunctioning? I don't want to pay to have my dash pulled apart!

Most of the new heating and air systems in cars are mostly vacuume controlled. Most of the levers go to vacume controls rather than levers like they use to. What I recamend is getting the Chilton on your vehicle first and formost. You need to see if you can get behind the console without removing the entire dash, which I have done before, and you need a partner to help you. after unbolting everything you have to lift from both sides and pull out twards the back of the vehcile. The last one I worked on, I was able to remove the radio and get my hand in and put a vaccume tube back where it goes and that fixed the problem. Believe it or not Chrutchfield has the best tools for removing the radio, and they are typicaly inexpensive. you need to get in behind the dash and look at all the levers and any vaccume and or diaphram controlls. Turn the car on, start moving all your vent controlls on heat and a/c and air. also under recirculate. there are a couple of small clips and wired connections that could have come lose, also something that most people forget about the most is, all the seals. Toyota and Honda started it, by making all the new cars air tight. so when the doors get slammed seals can get blown out.

I hope this helps, this is where I would start.

2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L 4x4. A/C is on but no air

Check the resistor pack next to the air motor blower, after you check the fues's the resistor pack is most likely blown but to be sure turn it on to heat and try the blower motor if it still does not run remove the restior pack and look and see if they are burned out, it will look like a fues thats blown. Two 1/4 screws holds it on and has 4 or 5 wires in it. If you need more help please post here.
