It sounds as iactuator is either weak or the door it controls is binding. Most likely the fix is going to be replace actuator.

What makes a Clicking noise coming from dash board on the passenger side?

Possibly an actuator in your HVAC system. There are actuators to move the blend door, mode door, recirc door, and possibly others depending on your HVAC options (climate control, dual control, etc). With your car running, can you change the temperature from cold to hot and back, and can you direct airflow to floor, defrost, and dash vents? When you select recirculate (max a/c), can you hear the change? If you have problems with any of these, you may need to replace an actuator or one of the doors may be jammed.

When I turn off engine, why do I hear a clicking sound from under dash?

HI THE CLICKING SOUND IS PROBABLY A HEATER/AC ACTUATOR WITH A STRIPPED GEAR , WHEN THIS HAPPENS TRY TO MOVE THE HEATER CONTROL KNOB FOR THE MODES (DEFROST/FLOOR/VENTS) SEE IF NOISE CHANGES . IF IT DOSE THEN THE ISSUE IS WITH A ACTUATOR UNDER THE DASH

My blows cold and I hear a clicking sound from the inside...what could it be?

There are electric motors that move blend doors in your dash board. The blend doors control the heat/cool ratios as well as the location the air will blow from. It's very common for the doors to break or the motor to fail and require replacement which can be costly.

Where is the mode actuator in kia sportage 2006

Hi Judith , that clicking noise is annoying ! That's what there do when there wore out, just plastic gears inside. It is located under the dash left side I'll add a picture of it's location. You will probably have to take some kind of panel off on the left side under the steering wheel .Have to lay on floor to look up under the dash to see it. Once you do that you can reach you hand up and feel the actuator clicking,

2004 Toyota sienna blend door actuator intermittent problems

I know this post is old but for those of you experiencing this clicking noise it appears from my research so far that it is the actuator that moves the blend door. A couple of people even repaired the motor assembly because it appears to slip where the motor drive connects to the worm gear. If you search sienna ac actuator you can find the videos, I belive one guy was named Froggy. My passenger is stuck on cold and the driver side makes noise when moving to cold, the driver side also seems to hesitate going to warm. It's $120 for a replacement actuator. I'm really close to changing it, you just have to make sure the door and motor arm Match positions for it to work right. The dealer seems hesitant to replace it since they are worried it may be loose foam in the blender box. The box costs $3500 to replace though since its buried in the dash, and from what I've seen researching this the actuator is a possible issue in multiple models as well as Lexus vehicles and some other brands.

My heater/ac unit will not turn to heat all it will do is make a clicking noise

Your blend door actuator is stripping it's gears. You may be able to see the actuator by looking under the dash above the passenger's feet. The actuator looks like the picture below. If you can, take the connector off and unscrew the actuator from the heater box. Make sure the door will rotate by hand. If it does, replace the actuator. The part is $36 at autozone. If the door is jammed, you may have to remove the heater box to repair the door. That would be a big job...
Let me know if you have any questions.

Heater not working. A/c working fine, move thermostat lever to heat and hear clicking noise, but only blows cold air

This is a problem with these trucks, theres two things that cause this, the blend door is not working, the most common is the actuator motor that controls this door is bad and thats the clicking you are hearing, this motor is bolted to heaterbox, you will need to move heat lever to find the clicking motor as to there are a few of them that control other options, the other problem is the door breaks where the motor hooks to. that moves the door, if you remove the motor look at end where motor connects if its broke then a new door is needed, most of the time its just the actuator, heres a picture to help you find it, hope this helps.f802497.jpg

My AC and heat will only blow out of my defrost vent and will not switch to vent on my 2000 GMC Sierra also when on outside air whin and tick under dashboard on passenger side

Check the actuator motor under the dash, you may not be able to reach it,there is one under the dash on the bottom of the blower box, this is not the one, this one is the temp door actuator, you need to find the directional door actuator, follow the clicking noise, this is the one that needs attention, the door is stuck,or the actuator motor is bad.If this was at all helpful, please rate.
