Question about 1994 Honda Accord

1 Answer

1994 Honda Accord

I have a 1994 Honda Accord and when if I don't let it warm completely up it shuts off. Once it's warm it runs good. I changed the fuel filter and that didn't help. What could the problem be.

Sounds like the your temp sensor is not reporting to the ECU
there are two tempature sensors one for the coolant and one for the engine. the one for the engine is used to calculate fuel trim mixture.

Try the fuel filter. When the car has been sitting fuel actually accumalates in the filter. As you driver the fuel is still getting through but at a diminished capacity hence the reason for the sluggish performance as it warms up. This will happen until the clog get sobad that the engine will stall. As the car sits again fuel again buid up in the filter and the car will start but because there is a gap in the fuel supply between the exit of the filter and the fuel rail a slug of fuel enters into the combustion chamber causing the backfire.

MY 1994 HONDA STARTS UP OK..BUT AS GAS IS FED THE

It is possible a fuel problem BUT,,,You might want to take a look inside the distributor cap because if you dont maintain the tune ups properly the dist.cap and rotor can crossfire sue to all the build-up inside,Always use a OE(from honda)cap and rotor as they last longer and always the proper fit! let me know if this helps have a good day Darrell

94 honda accord turns off when i come to a stop.

Sounds like the fuel supply pipe inside the fuel tank has hole that's why if the fuel level is about 1/4 and the pipe hole is not completely soak in the fuel, the fuel pump will sucks air instead of fuel and this can cause of lack of power first until the engine shut off but if your problem is sudden shut off without other symptoms like lack of power or engine rough running first before engine shutting off, most probably it was electical problem.
