must change the fuel sending sensor located inside the fuel pump assembly, if the car has more than 100,000 miles, I would recommend replacing the fuel pump assembly. the fuel pump assembly can be found on ebay it should range from $60-100.
Not sure what your asking but the fuel gage sending unit is in the gas tank. Most problems with fuel gages that read incorrectly are there. It may need to be replaced.
Try changing the fuel filter. Sounds like fuel restriction or exhaust restriction. It's also possible the timing chain could be loose especially if an high mileage engine. Fuel filter first & go from there. Good luck!
