Heater core

Sounds like a bad heater core. You will get steam/vapor out of vents from this. If you are referring to the over flow tube being the evaporator drain tube at the firewall its because the heater core shares the same case with the A/C and its filling up with anti-freeze.

I have an 1999 chrysler 300m an it has an overheating problem. There is also water all over the driver side floor (front n back) it is soaked. It takes about 25mins b4 it starts smoking. Can som1 plz help...

Typically if your leaking coolant inside the car, it indicates your heater core is split and leaking. Replacing the heater core is quite the job. It requires removal of the dash board and heater box. i replaced one in a 97 Cirrus at work last week and it was a 6 hour job. If your not mechanically inclined i would definitley recomend phoneing around for quotes to local auto repair shops and getting it done profesionally.

Antifreeze steam comeing through vents

Your heater core has a leak, it's like a small radiator that heats up and the blower motor blows air thru it to create heat in the car. It is leaking anti freeze into the heater box.

Smell antifreeze thru heat vents when heater is on in 2000 dodge durango. theres no leaks or drips.

Textbook bad heater core symptom. Might be a blown/leaking heater hose....but I doubt it. My monies are on a bad heater core.

Found a leak coming from the outside grill and runs down the inside and into my drivers well , can you help

If there is a leak getting into the passenger compartment from the 'firewall' it usually indicates a leaking heater core. Smell the leak and if it smells like antifreeze it is the heater core. If it has no smell and is clear then the drain tube from the defroster vent is plugged up causing the condensation from the AC/defroster to leak inside the vehicle.

Overheating and leakage...

That tube is the A/C drain port. Your problem is the heater core is leaking and draining from the A/Cdrain port. I hope this helps.
Thank You,

''sweet smelling'' steam and overheating light is on.

your heater core or heater core hoses are bad and have sprung a leak the sweet smell is from antifreeze this is not a do it yourself-er if you are squeamish about tackling a big job sometimes they can be a real pain to get, like the built the entire car around it.

2000 bmw 528i overheating

The only way a heater core can cause overheating is if it's leaking and the engine is low on antifreeze. To check it for leaks it would help to use a cooling system pressure tester.
