What's up is that you either ran it out of coolant or oil or had an isolated bearing failure. Take the plugs out yet?

It sounds like you have a broken timing belt. Very, very expensive damage to head and valves.

Engine stopped while driving on highway..I'm told the engine seized possibly due to the timing belt even tho the belt was changed as required..approx. 8'000 miles ago. it now has 121,000 miles. What

Did you see them replace the belt ???
Its a complicated process, and should have taken several hours to replace. Mechanics sometimes lie.
If it was replaced, it's possible the failure occured from lack of oil, metal fatigue, hydraulic lifters can break, valves can drop into engines, any number of things can go wrong.
Unless you pay to have someone open the engine back up, there's really no way to positively prove what happened.

There is a fault in the restraint/Airbag system it will need to be hooked up to a diagnostic computer to determine the cause ...either the dealer or a certified mechanic with the proper software can do it.
could be a simple as replacing a seat belt..

Smokey engine at startup means that the valve seats and bushings are worn out - major refit needed - stay away, it might cost you more than the car itself.

1994 jetta III gl oil in the air intake hose

Sounds to me you blow by. Thats when either rings on the pistons are worn letting oil pass by or you have a scorned cylinder which also is letting oil get by. Should get a compression check done to make sure.
