Question about 2005 Ford Explorer
I looked through the electrical diagrams of the circuit and came to a theory that you have a broken wire inside of the door wiring harness. The opening and closing of the doors puts a lot of stress on the wires(especially in cold climates). pull the rubber boot back from the door and inspect the wires. i suspect you will find a broken wire or wires.
Let me know once checked.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

All of the power windows in this truck are controlled by a central module called the GEM module (Generic electronic module), this may have failed and most likely is causing the problem, the Ford dealer can quickly run a functional test on this module with a special dealer tool called an NGS scanner, that will give the cause of the fault in the form of a trouble code, if they recommend the GEM be replaced you will need to have the dealer do the job, the new Gem module comes blank and must be programmed, if it is not programmed you will not be able to start your truck.
