Question about 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Constant beeping when opening door to exit van

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette. Van just started constant beeping when I open door to exit the vehicle as if the key is still in the ignition or the lights are on. However, the lights are not on, and the key is not in the ignition. Checked all fuses and they seem to be fine. Tried resetting things by disconnecting battery but no luck. Tried reprogramming power door lock options, but nothing changed. Seems as if the van "thinks" that the key is in the ignition even though it isn't. Tried to google for ignition key sensor, but didn't really find anything. Very annoying, and like I said, just started today.

Good news. After letting the van sit for a few hours, when I went to get in it again, I opened the van with the key (ie. not the remote fob) and there was no beeping. I don't know if checking all the fuses (I fulled and checked each one), or disconnecting the battery, using the key, or just letting it sit did the trick, but it is now fixed.

When in anything but park there is a constant beeping coming from the back of the van? what could this be? it is a 2001 oldsomobile silhouette

one of the doors is not shut properly prolly the power slider. "help" it close and it'll go away, or turn on the lock on the panel above your head.

2001 olds silhouette non functioning alarm

red light? this is a factory alarm?? Is GM on the key fob? factory alarms dont have "motion sensors" and very few aftermarket alarms do. roll down the window and set the alarm, now open the door and see if it lights off.

2004 Olds Silhouette - electric door locks lock on their own

Most likely your alarm system needs reset. When you use the button to turn the alarm on and off the horn beeps and lights flash. Horn beep when switch turned on, makes sense would be in the alarm system with all you've told.

2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette....Power lock on my power door doesn't come up completely and the door doesn't open with or without the button. What can I do? I also believe my van has other electrical issues...

From the back of the front door slide your hand in the sliding door crack and find the child-safety-lever. Push the lever up and/or down while moving the sliding door manual lock/unlock button to the up position. Also works on the non-powered sliding door.
