Can be couple of things, 1. motor burnt out 2. fan switch is faulty 3. fuse 4. relay. if you have a volt meter tester than you test them all and see if they all are working. if you think relay and fuse are good, more likely it will be the switch or the motor. they all are easy to fix and replace. if you have to replace the parts and want to save money, get it from the junk yard or ebay; dealer has 100% mark up.

A/C cooling fans, A/C only cools when car is in motion????

Cooling fans are most likely not coming on. I believe that vehicle has two fans..side by side, one closer to passenger side is ac fan..should come on when you cut ac on. I would check coolant level some sensors will not read temp correctly unless submerged in should kick on when car reaches somewhere around 185 to 205....should be a plastic fuse box under hood that houses fan relay...also should be identical relays that run headlights or something can swap relaysaround to see if the relay has gone bad. If fans aren't coming on or one of the two is..turn the one not coming on by hand to see if fan motor has frozen up

The engine is over heating when the air condtion ing is on- the fans are not working.

  • You have a relay box under the hood back by the firewall on the passenger side. What happens is that fan relay goes out and the fan won't come on. When your AC is running the compressor is running and this makes your engine run much hotter than without the AC running. The fan should be on when ever the AC is on by default.
  • So under the hood (diagram #2) is the relay panel. When you lift up the lid to the relay panel there is a diagram of all the relays and fusible links inside there. Find the relay for the fans and this should fix your problem.

2007 PT Crizer does it have an interior fuse box my ac fan is not blowing

I will answer this if you rate, by checking one of the four thumbs up! Just kidding. I will tell you. There is a relay on the passenger side under the dash. If you take your hand and bump the dash pretty hard under the glove box I bet the fan will come on. There is a relay under there that is not pulling in. You need a new relay!

2000 passat inside heat/ac fan doesn't work

Dear FixYas' akajme30,

The ac light probably won't come on until the fan comes on! I know it's like that in my car and everything's working great!

Check any fuses or relays (usually 1-2inch almost square black boxes) relating to the HVAC system usually under the drivers' side dash or passenger side dash or under the hood.

If that doesn't work I would remove the glovebox, test that the fan's getting power and if so replace the fan.

Always take the part you take out to the auto parts store to be tested and/or ask them if you can return it (usually yes)

If you'd like to read more on how to remove the glovebox click on the http:// below @

Hope this is a FixYa for you!

1990 buick century

They are located behind the right front headlights (passenger side). There is a bank of four relays mounted on a common holder. The four are for various purposes, one of which is to control the ac fan on the low settings. I got a bank of four used relays from and olds off of ebay. I plugged in the part number off the one I had into the search box to find it.

If a relay is bad, it will usually rattle.

Good luck!
