With a scan tool you should be able to disable tha function so you should not have to cut any wires .

Car wont start till i turn key on for 10 minutes

Sounds like a security passcode issue. There is a chip inside the ignition and if your key does not have a chip in it, this is probably the problem. You can bypass the security lock feature but its a pain in the kisser. Unfortunately, that maybe the only solution to bypass the system or you can do nothing except before letting the key go when you start the car make sure it is started.

1995 Buick Lasbre 3.8L. Cranks over and wont start. Sometimes will start. Very random. Can drive 1 mile, shop, come out, car won't start just cranks over. Had replaced plugs, wires. Dealership...

If you have not changed the crank sensor,CHANGE IT NOW..Also in warm climates NEVER use fuel with ethanol in it.If it was a anti theft alarm problem, you usually get a light on the dash.

I have a 1993 buick lesabre. The security light is flashing and will not start. I checked the fuse it was ok. I tried our other key and still wouldn't start.

there may be a broken wire from the ignition swith going down the steering column, theres two sensors at the begining opening of switch, sometimes they get stuck and dont pop back out, in turn it doesnt touch the chip on the key and cant read it,take a look with a light use a small pic and push lightly on them and see if the y push in and pop out, if they do then replace ignition swith, theres a way to bypass, use an omh meter and measure resistance of key chip, then buy a resistor with the same value, and connenet to wires from switch under the dash, cut wires and put conecting the two going to switch with resistor connecting them together, heres a diagram,193b32f.jpg

92 cadillac saville wont start, due to theft system.

The ignition lock cylinder has a set of contacts that "reads" the resistance in the chip thats in the key. The lock cylinder has a very small wire that commonly breaks causing your same problem. The fix is to replace the ignition lock cylinder but you will have to have it keyed to fit your existing key or get a key made that fits the new lock cylinder but has the same resistance as your current key.

If the chip in a key for a 94 cadilac ingnition key glitches up will the lights and stuff still come on but the car not start?

yes the lights on the dash will light up as usual but the car wont start as it is immobilised if the chip in the key has stopped working, usually there is a red light that flash's somewhere on the dash and when the car recognises the key the light will stay on and the car will start! if te chip is gone the car will ight up as usual but it wont start as it will be immobilised although on a car of the age yours is the immobiliser will be simple to bypass if you hav'nt got the knowledge an auto electrician shoul be able to sort it out with in a hour so it won;t be exphensive.

1995 chevy impala ingnition

I had the same problem last summer. Poor thing was dead for 2 months. Finally figured it out. Under the steering column (under the driver's side dashboard) there's a small connector with an orange cable that has two small white wires inside it. These wires come from the ignition switch, and run to the PCM (computer). The small chip in your key isn't being detected. The two wires on this connector connect to the key when it's in the slot. The ignition switch is bad, and not connecting to the key when it's inserted. Try cleaning up the chip contacts on your key, or try your spare key if you have one. Also spray a small amount of contact cleaner into the ignition switch. Insert, and re-insert the key a bunch of times to clean up the inner contacts. This should take care of it. Post a follow-up message to let me know if it worked or not. There's another solution, but it's not something I'd wanna post online because it gives away how to bypass the Pass Key theft deterrent system.
GOOD LUCK!

My keys are stuck in the ingnition of my car. The car is in park. The wheel barely moves. The car cannot start. The key will not come out. The key will not budge. PLEASE HELP

Until I find the fix, this will allow you to remove the key. Disconnect the negative clamp on the battery. Remove the key, and reconnect the battery. Weird, huh ? But it works !

My 95 chevy caprice won't start because of the pass key fault. how can i fix this problem?

I have a 96 Caprice and this has happened to me twice now. There are two wires that are behind the ignition (where the key goes) one or both of the wires have more thsn likely broken. I was told that the little chip in the key may have been bad so I had a new key made, didn't solve the problem!! Come to find out there was a guy in my area that rebuilds steering colums and ingnitions when there's a problem or someone tried to steal the vehicle. So I live in Dayton, Ohio hopefully your in the area probably not but try to find someone who works on cars in your area and have them take your ingnition out, and i'm about 90% sure that that is your problem. Hope it works for you. Kevin
