Question about 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Clutch wont work

I replaced my clutch which made it work for a little while than it went out again. the pedal goes to the floor and the shifter wont go into any gear.

    fluid was full. tried bleeding it but it didnt help.

Check and make sure you have fluid in the clutch master cylinder. If it is low fill and check for leaks. Repair leaks as needed and bleed system. If fluid was full check adjustment and bleed system, if there is air in the system pedal will go to the floor.

    Then in that case the slave or master cylinder is bad. Check and make sure you are getting pressure at the slave. Also another possible answer is the pressure plate.

Your master and slave cylinder can cause this, try replacing the kit for them and if that does not work then u might need to bu a new clutch.

I have a 98 vw passat. about a week ago the clutch went to the floor. i reached down and pulled it back up but again it went to the floor and stayed there. i tried this several times before i took off...

The problem would be the master clutch cylinder that needed to be replace or the replacement cup kit that must be replace!

Go to ur nearest garage to have the replace it or check on it!

When i turn the key the engine wont turn over but i have power to everything but the motor

is the car a manual transmission or an automatic? if manual there is a switch on the clutch pedal that wont let engine turn over unless clutch is pushed to floor.automatic it is mounted on transmission at the linkage.for auto trans you can move shifter back an forth while trying to crank engine. if manual you can push clutch pedal to floor hard an try to crank.

cluth plate and pressure plate bad,,,noise is more than likely loose clutch material scraping some part,,,how long since new parts installed?? not real expensieve,,but moderate amount of money., if you do it yourself. some have inspection plate you can see a little around flywheel housing,,to possibley survey damage. wipe finger in there and see how much material you get,,a lot,,,replace clutch and pressure plate

Replacing a master and slave clutch cylinders on a

remove the battery and the battery tray,the fluid line and the two bolts that hold on the clutch master and may need to bleed the new one at the slave cylinder by having someone depress the pedal and letting the air out and tighten the line again before they release the pedal,but i think by pushing the pedal up and down a few times it will be ok. if the shifter wont go into gear or the car starts to move when only slightly moving the pedal of the floor then bleed it.

Clutch pedal goes to the floor, then after pulling it up there is pressure...

There is either air in the system or a leak in the clutch slave cylinder. Check your fluid make sure it is full and the cap is tight.
