Question about 2002 Saturn VUE
2003 has fuel gage that has stop working and sits on empty even if the tank is full.
The gauge itself is probably OK.
The sender is located inside the gas tank and there are probably a couple of connectors between it and the gauge that can be faulty or corroded.
But, in order to chase the cables to find the connectors, you really need to procure a service manual for your car; these will pay for themselves many times over and give you a chance to keep service people honest once you can see how much work any given repair requires.
I prefer Haynes manuals and have one for each vehicle we own.

Another handy item to have that isn't costly and would allow you to check the condition of the level sender, is a digital multimeter. These can be found for under $20 US at electronics stores or auto parts stores and are not difficult to use.
